Joe Friddle
was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and graduated from Auburn University.
He began his art career with stylized pencil drawings and portraits. He now explores the freedom that watercolor adds to his art. He combines his love of nature with nostalgic impressions of times gone by. Whether he is creating portraits of old homesteads, historic buildings, still life, or other specific portrait requests, Joe always finds a story to tell. He also added his whimsical animals, which have a realistic feel but are colorful and fun.
As a teacher for over five decades, Joe continues to experiment and expand ways to share his subject matter with his art and his students and to record the natural beauty of Texas through his art. He is a member of the Texas Wild Bunch and the Boerne Professional Artist Association.
Joe is the owner of Frames and Things: Custom Framing and Art Gallery. You can find his work there, along with originals and S/N prints by other artists. Frames and Things also encourages local artists and all other artistic endeavors in Central Texas.
